A New Day of Community Service

Is it the TRUTH?                            Is it FAIR to all concerned?                                   Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?                                        Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

Our guest speaker was Dannelle Stylos, Community Development Director of our City.

Our usual speaker stenographer, Mike Tozzi was not present, and your intrepid Webmaster (who can't take shorthand) forgot his tape recorder.  Ms. Stylos was gracious enough to write her own follow up to the talk.  Boy, we have some nice people at City Hall!

 Danelle writes:

Here is the gist of the topic…

A bit of history about how I arrived in Oakdale, planner by profession starting out with the City of Turlock (worked with Steve Hallam), graduate school, Rutgers of New Jersey, back to good old California late 1990’s went to work for the City of Citrus Heights, then next onto the City of Elk Grove, Sutter County and now City of Oakdale (opportunity to work with Steve Hallam again).

City has a lot of charm, great amenities (Stanislaus River, rolling hills, farmland, sense of community, friendly, to name a few).

City will begin a comprehensive General Plan update in January 2008, it’s a 20-year community vision of how the city will develop.  The General Plan is a public document and public input is necessary to ensure the General Plan captures the community vision for how the community will develop.  I also touched on the Oakdale By-Pass and the North County Transportation Corridor.

Here is a city link that covers just about anything planning related. (link)  http://www.ci.oakdale.ca.us/content/view/44/107/

Thank you again for the invitation, it was a pleasure being a guest speaker.
