A New Day of Community Service

Is it the TRUTH?                            Is it FAIR to all concerned?                                   Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?                                        Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

Webmaster "Retires" Website to be Reestablished

One of the age old adages suggest that the way to get things done is to hire a busy man to do it.  Sometimes the other edge of that sword is being a bit overwhelmed, trying to be everything to everybody.  And eventually something has to give.  For the better part of the last year, I have been sitting on the sidelines (of Oakdale Sunrise Rotary), hoping that I could make the time to get back into the game and go at full strength.  I don't do things half way, and I just could not find a way to juggle Rotary into the mix.

I thank the Oakdale Sunrise Rotary for putting their confidence in me, from helping establish the club six years ago, to allowing me to learn to build a website and make it work as both a public relations tool and a tool for our membership.  Alas, I leave with far less accomplished than my dreams had in mind!  But of course, refer to the first paragraph for the reasons behind that.

Incoming President John Milsap has hinted to me that he has a new webmaster in mind that will take what I have started and vastly improve upon it.  I wish that person all the best.  As I wish every member of the Oakdale Sunrise Rotary Club the best in all its wonderful efforts to server our community.  It has been a great run and I am proud to have been a part of it!

Sunrise Rotary presents Check for $8000.00 to Oakdale School Music Programs

Oakdale Sunrise Rotary President Ray Leverett presented  the Oakdale Joint Unified School District school board a check for $8000 as a result of the club fundraiser with Tom Rigney. Acting School Board President Michael Tozzi and school Superintendent Wendell Chun (both Rotary members) accepted the check. The district music department has been designated as the recipient and will meet to determine how the money will best benefit students. Suggestions such as additional instruments and students attending concerts are two of the possible options.(text courtesy of Barbara Shook)
